According to Tech Crunch the iPhone mom is the new soccer mom and these moms are buying lots of iPhone apps for kids. In the fall of 2008, there were only a handful of iPhone apps for kids. 1 year later, in the Education category (with close to 6000 apps) on the iTunes App Store, half of the Top 100 Paid Apps are iPhone apps for kids. Many of those are iPhone apps for kids designed for toddlers and preschoolers.

Apple is starting to recognize this new trend in the App Store as they have recently featured iPhone apps for kids in their commercials and in the marketing banners on the iTunes App store.

According to Greystripe, a mobile ad network, 29.5% of all iPhone users are “iPhone Moms”. It is no wonder, when there has been an explosion of apps marketed towards Moms from educational iphone apps for kids to apps that help you track feedings, diapers and sleep schedules.
